What "spec-naming analysis" means
- CPU generation and TDP class — whether a chip is Intel Core Ultra Series 1 or 2, where a Ryzen 4-digit code lands on year/tier/architecture, and whether a laptop configures that chip at U, H, or HX wattage.
- Manufacturer display specs — nits (sustained vs peak), sRGB/DCI-P3 coverage percentage, refresh rate, and panel finish, as published by the OEM.
- RAM/storage configuration — soldered vs SODIMM, LPDDR5 vs DDR5, NVMe generation, and single vs dual M.2 slot, verified against teardown/service documentation where public specs are ambiguous.
- Battery Wh and charging — the stated watt-hour rating and USB-C PD wattage requirement, not the marketing "up to X hours" runtime claim alone.
- Aggregated owner-feedback themes — recurring praise and complaints (thermal throttling, keyboard feel, hinge durability), described qualitatively, never reproduced as ratings or review counts.
Why we lead with the spec number, not the model name
The laptop category is full of listings that repeat a chip's marketing name without the generation, TDP class, or configuration details that actually decide performance and longevity — so a U-class "Core Ultra 7" gets compared as if it performs like an H-class one. We compete where the answer is a citable fact those listings gloss over: Series 1 vs 2, the Ryzen digit-by-digit code, the TDP class trap, soldered-RAM reality, and the nits-peak-vs-sustained distinction. If a category's marketing is mostly inflation, we say so.
